Sweet n’ Sour Chicken
I asked our Facebook fans for recipes they wanted to see revamped to be 21 Day Fix safe and I got some great responses! The first one that I wanted to try was Sweet n’ Sour chicken! Usually deep fried and coated in a sauce made with a lot of sugar, this recipe isn’t such an easy one to fix…but I did it! The results are a tender, slightly crunchy chicken with a delicious sweet and sour sauce. Best part, it’s totally 21 Day Fix approved and your whole family will love it! This recipe is also awesome for Weight Watchers. It can be mixed with a bunch of zero point veggies for a wonderful meal!

August 16, 2018 at 9:12 amWe really enjoyed this meal! It really hit the spot. We added a green container of broccoli for each serving into the mix while finishing the sauce and it was perfect! This meal will be repeated in our menu next week too!

May 29, 2017 at 2:46 pmI was very excited to try this, but once I tasted it, it was too much vinegar. My kids usually can handle the 21 day fix recipes but not this one and I don’t blame them!

April 7, 2017 at 8:43 pmDoes it have to be apple cider vinegar? Or cani use regular?
Püreatz
April 7, 2017 at 10:04 pmHey Leslee, you can use regular but it won’t taste the same. The apple cider vinegar gives the tart/sweet flavor and regular vinegar won’t lend that tart flavor.

February 10, 2017 at 12:27 pmFor the serving: is the red container just for the chicken? Would a yellow container be for the rice? New to 21 day fix, thanks!
Püreatz
February 10, 2017 at 4:18 pmHey Tara! The red container would just be for the red. Rice would need to be counted as a yellow.

January 17, 2017 at 4:01 pmCan I make this without corn starch
Püreatz
January 17, 2017 at 5:12 pmYes, but it will not thicken up. You need to use flour, or whole wheat flour or cornstarch in order for the sauce to thicken up.

July 4, 2016 at 6:20 pmhey! this recipe looks so good. how could you adjust it to use a crock pot?
Püreatz
July 11, 2016 at 10:26 pmHi Erin. Unfortunately this recipe cannot be adjusted for the Crock-Pot. The sauce is very thick, and would like end up burning it.
